Edgar, Chief Technologist

Edgar, Chief Technologist

Edgar operates at the center of the Chamber’s most consequential advancements. As Chief Technologist, he is responsible for developing the Soul Extraction Project and for building the Behemoth, both of which have reshaped the Chamber’s capacity for control and enforcement.

Brilliant and socially inept, Edgar approaches the world through systems and experimentation rather than politics or command. His focus is technical precision, not public authority. That distance from hierarchy has defined his position within the Chamber of Roses as much as his intellect.

Despite his value, Edgar was never permitted to formally join the Chamber. The reasons are not ceremonial. He does not fit the mold of leadership, loyalty, or presentation the Chamber expects of its inner circle. Instead, he was appointed Chief Technologist and given something arguably more powerful than status: access.

Edgar operates out of a highly advanced laboratory with seemingly unlimited resources. Materials, funding, and test subjects are made available with little restriction. The Chamber does not question his methods as long as results continue to materialize. Oversight is minimal. Outcomes are what matter.

His longstanding friendship with Lomax places Edgar close to the Chamber’s enforcement apparatus. While Lomax uses authority and manipulation to maintain order, Edgar provides the tools that make that authority effective. Their relationship is practical, rooted in shared history and mutual benefit rather than ideology.

Edgar does not concern himself with how his work is used. He builds. He refines. He improves. Ethical boundaries are secondary to function, and success is measured by performance, not consequence.

Within the Chamber’s structure, Edgar represents a different kind of power. Not command, not violence, but capability. The systems he designs outlast individual leaders, making his influence both quiet and enduring.
